Project Overview
David A. Hill Library – Harper College, Palatine, Illinois serves as a central academic and resource hub for the campus, combining library collections, study spaces, collaborative learning areas, and digital media facilities. As part of a modernization effort, the library underwent extensive renovations to improve accessibility, expand functional spaces, and integrate new technologies, creating a flexible learning environment that supports both students and faculty. The project emphasized transparency, natural light, and durable materials to reinforce the library’s role as a cornerstone of campus life.
G&L Associates contributed architectural metal systems expertise and building envelope coordination for the library’s exterior components. Working with the architect and construction team, G&L helped ensure that metal façade systems and exterior assemblies met performance, durability, and aesthetic requirements. Their involvement contributed to a cohesive exterior expression that aligned with the building’s modernized interior and long-term functional goals.
