Michigan State UniversityStadium

Project Overview
Spartan Stadium at Michigan State University is a historic collegiate football facility in East Lansing, Michigan, serving as the home of the MSU Spartans since 1923 and seating more than 75,000 fans. Over its long history, the stadium has undergone multiple major expansions and enhancements to improve capacity, functionality, and the fan experience — including a significant expansion completed in the early 2000s that added luxury suites, club seating, a grand entrance, and modern facilities integrated with the existing structure. G&L Associates contributed to the project by providing architectural metal systems expertise and façade coordination that supported the integration of exterior metal panel and envelope elements, ensuring they met aesthetic, performance, and durability requirements appropriate for a high-profile athletic venue while maintaining continuity with the stadium’s evolving architectural expression.
In more recent years, Spartan Stadium continues to see phased improvements geared toward modernizing key areas of the facility, including suite renovations, replaced video boards, and planning for larger modernization initiatives that will enhance concourses, seating, amenities, and accessibility while reinforcing the stadium’s role as a central gathering place for the MSU community. G&L’s involvement in exterior systems supports these long-term goals by helping deliver durable, cohesive building envelope solutions that complement structural upgrades and design intentions — crucial for a venue subjected to constant use and exposure in a collegiate sports environment.
