Project Overview

G&L Associates played an integral role on the Milwaukee Intermodal project by providing specialized architectural metal systems that contributed to the station’s modernized envelope. The scope included metal specialty systems with fire-rated cores and custom curved and geometrically sloped panels, engineered and coordinated to meet the design and performance requirements of this high-profile transportation facility. G&L’s involvement encompassed detailed technical support, coordination with fabricators and field teams, and ensuring that panel assemblies aligned precisely with the project design intent.

The Milwaukee Intermodal Station itself is a key transportation hub in downtown Milwaukee, serving Amtrak rail, intercity buses, and local transit, with a history of significant renovations to improve accessibility and passenger experience. Originally rebuilt and expanded in the mid-2000s, the facility features ADA-compliant concourses, upgraded façades, and durable exterior systems appropriate for heavy public use. Through its contribution of bespoke metal wall and façade components, G&L Associates supported the broader project objectives of durability, aesthetic integration, and reliable performance in a demanding civic infrastructure context.
